Basic Candle scents 3 This is the final installment on Aromatherapy essential oil.While it is not an all inclusive listing of of oils used for aromatherapy and candlemaking it will be a good launching point. Especially if you intend on making candles for Aromatherapy. Rose Oil Warm, deep floral scent. Base/middle note. Relaxing Aromatherapy use: Used for depression and relaxation. It is also good for mature, dry and sensitive skin, and its tonic action on the heart appears to help relieve cardiac congestion, due to its diuretic properties. Improving sluggish circulation, and broken veins. Rose oil is a wonderful aroma that will lift anyone's spirits. Rosemary Oil Fresh, herb scent. Middle note. Refreshing and stimulating. Aromatherapy use: Analgesic, Antidepressant, Anti-rheumatoid, Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Decongestant, Diuretic, Stimulant. Rosemary essential oil is used therapeutically in skin and hair care products as well as memory formulas and various liniments. Sandalwood Oil Rich, smooth, woody, earthy. Base note. Warming and relaxing Aromatherapy use: Sandalwood is wonderful in almost any amount in natural perfumes, and is used in aromatherapy for bringing calm and stilling the mind - especially in meditation or yoga blends. Combines well with Frankincense, myrrh and cedarwood. Spearmint Oil Lively, soft, bright minty aroma. Top note Aromatherapy use: Similar in properties to Peppermint, Spearmint is a gentler. It’s commonly used in aiding digestive problems, nausea, motion sickness, nervous conditions, stress, and tension. It also helps stimulate the appetite Tea Tree Oil Herb and medicinal aroma. Top note. A stimulating and healing quality scent. Aromatherapy use: One of the most commonly used essential oils for all types of infections - tea tree can be applied to cuts and scrapes. Wintergreen Oil Lively, bright, sweet minty aroma. Top note. Sweet, brightening, lively scent. Aromatherapy use: Wintergreen is mostly composed of methyl and is commonly used in pain relieving massage blends, especially with warming oils like ginger. It can also be useful in easing congestion from chronic mucous discharge. Ylang Ylang Oil Floral, earthy and sweet. Middle note. Aromatherapy use: Ylang Yland is thought to be an aphrodisiac and hypnotic due to it's relaxing effects. Vanilla Oil A rich, soft, creamy, smooth spicy scent. Middle note.
