Here is a beautiful little Firefinch I saw at the zoo a few days ago. I thought it would make a nice jigsaw puzzle for everyone to try.
You can make this puzzle easier (or harder) by changing the size and shape of puzzle pictures.

This pretty little bird is a Red-Billed or Senegal Firefinch and is native to Africa. Its bright colours will add interest to an aviary of mixed, similar sized finches. This particular bird is a male. The females and the young, are mainly brown, with a bit of red on the breast and the beak.
I hope to see one or more of these birds at the waterhold in Africa when I'm watching Africam one day. I am still as addicted to this website as ever.
Here is a good book about finches that you can find at Amazon.com and Amazon.ca
If you have any questions or would like to talk about finches of any kind, why not drop by the forum and see what others have to say. Do you have any Firefinches in your home? Do you know someone who keeps or maybe even breeds these beautiful little birds?
