Want to create brochures or flyers then you need to invest in some Desktop Publishing software. Normally Desktop Publishing software are pretty expensive, however Serif have released one of their previous versions Serif PagePlus SE for FREE!

Serif PagePlus SE has been around for quite some time. There are a great number of different features are available in Serif PagePlus SE software.

Features:

• Serif PagePlus SE has a lot of different templates so you can create different documents. It’s easy to create cards,banners, brochures, and posters and so on.



• You can also create tables in PagePlus this allows you a lot of flexibility when placing them into your documents. It’s very easy to display data in tables.



• Create shapes with Quick Shapes function even if you can’t actually draw. Quick Shapes can create stars and circles effortlessly. This means that you can make your document interesting.



• My favorite function is a spell checker. This works as you type by underlining any words that are spelt wrong.



• With Artistic Text feature you can create interesting text. Artistic Text is perfect for titles, logos and Websites. Color schemes can be set which means you can easily change the appearance of your documents to make them more professional.



• Templates can even be downloaded from the Website in packs. These allow you to enter your details, change the color scheme and then print them off. It’s a really quick way to get your documents printed out.

SE actually stands for “Special Edition”, it certainly does not mean that it's special; actually it means that it’s a cut down version of the full software. I always avoid buying any software that has SE anywhere on it! Of course when you get it for FREE you can’t complain.

Serif isn’t giving you PagePlus for free out of the goodness of their heart, they are actually giving it to you so they can try and tempt you to upgrade to the new version…. which you have to pay for!

When you visit the Website to download you will see that it’s basically an advert to buy the full version of PagePlus 9. If you want any of these extra features then you may need to consider paying a little extra:

• Spreadsheet function


• Mail merge


• Web publishing

These functions are only available in the full version of PagePlus however PagePlus SE is suitable for many people’s use.
