Review of My New Nook Tablet

Review of My New Nook Tablet
Yeah, I finally got my Nook Tablet and am so excited! One of my clients, who occasionally pays with things as opposed to money, recently sent it to me and in the same box was my first smart phone. Yes, I have still been using an old flip phone while watching everyone around me looking at their smart phones, sending emails and text messages and even surfing the web. For me, the screen is too small for all that stuff all the time. This is where the Nook Tablet is going to shine the most. The screen is much bigger than the one on the phone. Between the two new gadgets, the Nook has definitely had my attention the most.

I found the Nook easy to setup and get started with. Has yet to be a week but I have acquired lots of books and even managed to read one already! Okay, it was after I first downloaded and played a couple of games. It has been a while since I have read a book for enjoyment’s sake and I loved that I could sit in bed and read without having the light on. I also added music to my Nook by connecting to my computer through the USB port with the provided cable.

Along with having read my first e-book on an e-reader and the games of course, I have also set up my Nook Tablet to send and receive my emails. It was easy and fast that my second g-mail account has also been setup.

Surfing the Internet via Wi-Fi on the Nook Tablet is a breeze. As I am writing this I am reviewing how my web site looks on a portable device, not bad. Even my bellaonline.com site looks pretty good, and although the type is small, I can enlarge it with my fingers by putting two of them in the middle of the screen and moving one up and the other down at the same time.

So back to the fact that it is an e-book reader, some of the features for reading include being able to change the font, type size, line spacing, margins and theme and adjust the brightness. Just by touching a word with your finger for a second or two, allows you to highlight, add a note, search and also look up the definition of the word.

Cons: other than that it is larger and heavier to carry around, I have not used any other e-reader other than using Adobe Digital Editions to read e-books on my computer. That means sitting at my desk, and frankly, when reading for enjoyment or any length of time, sitting at the computer is not the most comfortable.
All in all I really like my new Nook Tablet. I like that not only can I read books and listen to music at the same time, I can do just about everything that I can do on the smart phone, with the exception of making a phone call, or can I use Skype to do that? Hm, will have to check that out!
