Timneh Jigsaw Puzzle

Thunder, the Timneh African Grey Parrot (TAG) is out enjoying the fresh air for this jigsaw puzzle. Thanks to Teresa Schnurr of Companion Fids for this great picture.

As always, you can make this harder (or easier) by changing the size and shape of puzzle pieces. You may have to scroll over to get the whole puzzle in your computer window.

Click here to send this picture as a postcard.

There are two African Grey Parrot species - the Timneh and the Congo.

Thunder is a Timneh African Grey. In this picture, you can see the difference in his beak colour. The timneh has a bone coloured upper beak compared to the Congo's black upper beak. Another difference is the colour of the tails, with the Timnehs having a darker maroon tail compared to the Congos bright red tail. The last visible difference is in size, with the Congo being slightly larger than the Timneh. The largest Timnehs can be larger than the smallest Congos though, so that is not a reliable method to determine species.

I am always looking for pictures to use for both postcards and jigsaw puzzles. If you would like to have your bird appear here, please consider sending a picture or two of your bird to me. The picture would always remain your property, but with your permission I would be able to use it on this site.
