Gimme, gimme, gimme some Mamma Mia! The power of a woman is truly endearing, as women are known to hold many secrets and memories close to their hearts, refusing to share with anyone else. That’s the case in the classic tale of Mamma Mia. A spirited woman has three secrets—and her daughter’s quest is to find which one of those secrets is her father. Mamma Mia has been seen on stage for years, dazzling audiences with hilarity and heart-warming moments, complete with a stellar soundtrack. On July 18, the Mamma Mia film starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Stellan Skarsgard will release in US theatres. The worldwide smash stage hit includes global producer Judy Craymer, writer Catherine Johnson, and director Phyllida Lloyd. These three powerhouse women will repeat their roles in the Mamma Mia film. For years, audiences have enjoyed the dynamic Mamma Mia music on stage, and finally, the CD of the film’s soundtrack will be released on July 8 on Decca. Mixed and produced by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Bjom Ulvaeus, the soundtrack is a must-have of beloved pop anthems. Andersson and Ulvaeus met up in Stockholm with the same musicians who played on the original ABBA songs to record the disc last year. This marked a reunion that had taken over two decades to occur, but producers and musicians still had the music pour out smoothly. Andersson states, “We didn’t have to think about it—it was in the fingers.” The actors of the film also met up to record their vocals in London, last year. They continued to work on their vocals and soundtrack last summer on location, while filming in the Greek islands. Mark July 8 on your calendars and be sure to groove to the classic soundtrack of Mamma Mia! Here’s the track listing: 1. Honey, Honey (Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Lilley & Rachel McDowall) 2.
