Alfred Hitchcock DVD collection premieres

MGM Home Entertainment announced that a definitive anthology from the “master of suspense” will arrive on DVD on October 14. Voted as the greatest director of all time by Entertainment Weekly, MGM Home Entertainment is proud to present this amazing collection featuring beautifully restored films and feature titles.

The eight-disc DVD set includes Hitchcock’s Oscar winner for Best Picture, Rebecca, starring Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier.
Other notable classic actors in the set include Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, and Gregory Peck.

Some of the films include Notorious, a tale of crime and espionage, The Paradine Case, and classic thriller, Sabotage.

This DVD collection also includes a 32-page notebook with trivia, production notes, and more! The films Rebecca, Spellbound, and Notorious will also be made available as single discs.

Rebecca

A young woman marries an older widower and discovers she must live within the shadows of his first wife, Rebecca, who mysteriously died.

Special features include:

- Commentary by film historian, Richard Schickel
- Screen tests
- Original 1938 Radio Play starring Orson Welles
- The Gothic World of Daphne Du Maurier featurette
- Audio interview with Alfred Hithcock and Peter Bogdanovich

Spellbound

A new director (Gregory Peck) arrives at a mental asylum is doubted by his colleagues because of his young age. Meanwhile, Dr. Peterson (Ingrid Bergman) knows he is an imposter but still falls in love with him.

Special features include:

- Commentary with film historians Thomas Schatz and Charles Ramirez Berg
- A Cinderella Story: Rhonda Fleming featurette
- 1948 Radio Play directed by Alfred Hitchcock
- Audio interview with composer Miklos Rozsa and film historian Rudy Belhemer

Notorious

As the daughter of an accused World War II traitor, Alicia Huberman (Ingrid Bergman) is recruited to capture one of her father’s colleagues in Brazil, Alexander Sebastian (Claude Raines). A love affair and marriage complicate everything.
