A beautiful Rubino Bourke Parakeet is this week's jigsaw puzzle. ArkMary of ArkMary Muses kindly allowed me to use this picture of her bird.
As always, you may have to scroll over to get the whole puzzle in your computer window. You can make this jigsaw puzzle harder (or easier) by changing the size and shape of puzzle pieces.

Bourkes Parakeets make wonderful pets. I have never personally seen any of the colour mutations - even the rosie bourkes that is fairly common in some areas. The colour of this rubino is amazing though and I do not even know if it is available in North America.
My area of the world is usually the last place that has any of the new colour mutations of any bird, probably because we do not have bird shows.
I used to have a sweet little normal coloured Bourkes Parakeet named Jerry and even he was brought in from another province. He had a pink breast, but his back was a brown, sparrow-like colour. The colour of the bird does not affect the personality though and Jerry had a wonderful personality. I had a walk-in flight and Jerry was always one of the first birds to land on my shoulder every time I walked in.
This book from Amazon.com or Amazon.ca has plenty of information on some of the many different parakeets of the world.
