Electronic Postcards

One of the perks of bellaonline.com is that we, the editors, can setup electronic postcards that you can send to anyone that you please. The link at the end of the article to take you to the Desktop Publishing / Ebook postcard page, Here you can choose the image, greeting, background color, music if you like, a stamp and your message to create your postcard. Add the name and email address of the person you would like to send it to and who it is coming from and click send. That is it! The images I used for my postcards are from articles I have written here on bellaonline.com. I have briefly described each of them below.

From my article “Creating Friendship Cards Using Word,” I used the yellow rose photograph in the heart shape and created two different postcards; one with the words “Yellow roses signify friendship and joy. I find much joy being friends with you.” And one without.

In the article “Enhance Clip Art Using Photoshop” I showed how I had used a flower clip art image that came with Corel Draw and opened it in Photoshop and gave it depth and colors. So the next two postcards are different variations in colors and texture of the flower images.

From “Easy Coloring Books to Create Using Word” I am using the mandala image that I found at http://www.mandala-4u.com/en/start.html, where you can download mandala coloring book pages and color them in. The mandala postcard shows the one I chose and colored in using Photoshop. Photoshop’s many options available for gradient fills, drop shadows, inner shadows, outer glows, stroke and opacity settings to name a few, were used to show just how much you can change an image and create something beautiful using Photoshop. Good for practicing using Photoshop and it is relaxing too!

Being in New England certainly brings a year round palette of colors, autumn leaves being one of my favorites. The autumn leaf on my next postcard is an actual leaf I scanned onto the computer and with some other leaves, I have used them to seasonally decorate newsletters and websites as discussed in my article, “Use Your Creativity and Make Money.”

As time goes on and more and I put up more articles, I will also add more images to the postcard section of the Desktop Publishing / Ebook postcard page. In the meantime, feel free to send postcards to your friends and family and anyone else you please!
