Once upon a time, in a magical land called Hollywood, many films were shown to adoring fans of cinema. Knights, princesses, dragons, and witches all lived in these fantasy films, awing the public for decades with tales of romance, vengeance, betrayal, bravery, and victory.
This year, that film is director Marc F. Adler's, Delgo. Set in the land of Jhamora-which is torn apart by two kinds of people, Nohrin, the masters of the skies, and the Lockni-a teenager named Delgo (Freddie Prinze Jr.) befriends an outspoken Lockni, Princess Kyla (Jennifer Love Hewitt).
The friendship between the two teenagers results in more tension between the Locknis and Nohrins, which later leads to an exiled Empress' (Anne Bancroft) revenge.
Empress Sedessa enlists the asssistance of a traitor (Malcolm McDowell) and two servants to kidnap Princess Kyla and frame Delgo for the criminal act.
Delgo vows to regain his clean reputation and rescue the love of his life with the help of his friend, Filo (Chris Kattan). The two must then work alongside Bogardus (Val Kilmer), a no-nonsense Nohrin General. The newfound team escapes prison and ventures to the land of Perran, where they meet many strange creatures and experience adventure, all the while in an effort to rescue Princess Kyla.
Meanwhile, Empress Sedessa strategizes for her re-apprehension of Jhamora. The Nohrin King (Louis Gossett, Jr.) and the leader of the Lockni Stonesage Council (Michael Clarke Duncan) organize their army troops to begin battle.
Set in a magical, fantasy land, this action-packed romance unfolds the story of a heroic Delgo who must undergo great lengths to rescue his love, disclose a traitor to the throne, reclaim peace in Jhamora, and end a feud between the two sides.
Delgo received the Best Feature Film Award at the 2008 Anima Mundi ceremony. As the first animated feature film to be independently produced and distributed as a wide release, Delgo will open in theatres this Friday, December 12.
