This Valentine's Day, Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) and singer-songwriter, Tyrone Wells are giving back whole-heartedly. Invisible Children, a media-based company that offers relief for those in war-torn northern Uganda, is organizing and hosting a raffle to win a personalized Valentine's videogram for your significant other. The Invisible Children's online store is selling tickets for as little as two dollars, and all proceeds go to Invisible Children.
Winners of the raffle will receive a personal note from either Pete or Tyrone to their special Valentine through video on February 14. Wells has been heavily involved with Invisible Children for a few years, and participated in their national event called the Global Night Commute. He has also taken the organization out on three Fall Out Boy tours, including their next tour slated for this April. His other charity projects include a recent art show in Los Angeles with Travis from Gym Class Heroes.
Invisible Children's involvement with celebrities, musicians, and artists has allowed the organization and its efforts to gain international exposure about the longest-running war in Africa. Through band tours, charity shows, and music festivals like Warped tour, Invisible Children has enabled artists to use their voice and fame to foster inspiration and ignite positive action.
Invisible Children is a social, political, and global movement using the transformative power of a story to change lives. Through creativity, art, idealism, and community, this global movement has become one of the most innovative programs in the world. The organization was generated after the release of the 2004 film Invisible Children: Rough Cut, a documentary about the life of child soldiers in northern Uganda.
