Macaws are some of the most colourful and largest of the parrot species. Scarlet Macaws (as well as the other large Macaws) are beautiful to look at and can make wonderful pets for an experienced bird keeper. The size of the beak can be intimidating, but generally, birds do not use their beaks to bite people, but to crack open nuts, and to aid in climbing branches and playing with toys.
