The HTML Body Tag - Setting The Colors - 2

OK, let's go back to the body tag. The attributes for the body tag are bgcolor, text, link, alink, and vlink. There are other body tag attributes that you can take control of, but for now we will work with just these.

bgcolorThis attribute controls the background color of the webpage.
textThis attribute controls the color of the words on the page.
link This attribute controls the color of the links on the page.
alinkThis attribute controls the change in color when the link is clicked on.
vlinkThis attribute controls the color of the links for the pages that have already been viewed.


OK, now for the other half of the equation, the values. In this case the values are the colors you want to use. You can talk to the computer about colors using words (i.e. black) and color codes (#000000). Because the use of words is being phased out, we will concentrate on the color code method. A color code should always be preceded by a # and is made up of six numbers. Different combinations of numbers stand for different colors. We will discuss color codes in more depth later. For now, here are a few to play with.

#000000black
#ffffffwhite
#ffa500orange
#ff0000red
#ffff00yellow
