Bowling Newsletter and ForumToday is May 7, 2007. I have just completed my graduation checklist and it is being reviewed by my trainers and mentors for completeness. If everything goes okay, I will soon be approved and earn the designation as Editor for the bowling site … ahhh, the relief of being designated as "official." If you have been coming here over the past four weeks, you've seen that I started sending my bowling newsletters four weeks ago. I will continue to send them every Wednesday or Thursday to everyone who is on the mailing list. If you are not already signed up, please do so. I have also posted some threads over in the forums and encourage all of you to help me give it a kickstart so we can build it together. Please review and understand Bella Online's "Privacy Policy" and the forum FAQ for "What are the rules of conduct for the forum?" I will endeavor, with your help and support, to make this a website that you are happy to visit regularly and tell your friends about. As we move forward and get settled in, I hope you'll agree that our objective should be to move this site in a positive direction. This site should not be all about, for example, how "in-your-face-good" a bowler is, how many high scores someone has bowled (high scores alone do not make someone better than another), nor about how one piece of equipment is better than another (personal preferences and how they actually throw the ball make the most difference in which is "better"). There are so many factors that affect the aforementioned subjects, the least of which are oiling patterns and conditions of the lanes. Just ask yourself how a can person average 261 for 69 games (national record set in 2000 - 2001) yet, in some parts of the country, only a handful of people average 200. In Hawaii, for the years 1995 to 2002, I barely managed to average 197, yet since moving here to Arizona, I have averaged as high as 226. I'm not trying to brag here, merely attempting to emphasize that there are different circumstances, environments, and conditions that can have an effect on averages and scores. What I hope you'll help me do is develop this website and forum with the sole intent and purpose of fostering and promoting the sport of bowling. We come here for helpful hints, advice, and support from fellow bowlers. Our love of the game will carry us far and help us build a site that anyone will come and visit. If they happen to be a non-bowler, perhaps we can convince them to join us in the best participation sport in the world! | Related Articles | Editor's Picks Articles | Top Ten Articles | Previous Features | Site Map
