Changing Perceptions

Changing Perceptions
It's certainly easy enough to get stuck in a rut! Maybe it's hectic around the house, a string of bad luck might find a curious attachment to your life or maybe we're just feeling unappreciated and in those sleepless hours of the night or few moments alone in the shower, wonder quite possibly if this isn't all there is?

Perception is only a moment in time, and that definition is based only on the concept of time as we know it.

Most of us can relate. Either we've been in a place and time that flashes before out eyes, though we've been there quite significantly longer or the small amount of time we are in certain situations can simply feel like an eternity!

Within either capsule of reason, is a pearl of sorts, a tool, we can retrieve at any time. First, we have to know that it's there and second be unafraid to use it.

Nothing stays the same. It's not meant to. Whether we're on top of the world and everything is going our way, or at our lowest low and nothing seems to be, both are constants that if we look deeply enough, understand couldn't possibly exist on a plane with such polarity.

Sometimes we can get stuck, a bit of a writer’s block. Before we know it, we're writing our own life stories with a predetermined ending. Girlfriends are wonderful, a night out with the guys, relaxing, but if we don't tend our sails, there's a front that can go up and down like the wind. If you've found yourself in any type of stagnate situation, the smallest thing can bring about a huge difference!

If you happen to be someone that is always there for people, play the parent and tell yourself to stop! If you're defiant, take away your cell phone, remove the battery or disengage your computer - the hard stuff, like taking apart your cables and scattering them in different rooms in different drawers, making certain you have backup files, of course, just in case.

If you happen to feel isolated, may even going through a depressive cycle, bake a loaf of bread. If you have a means, leave it in a nice basket with a kind note for a neighbor or someone you regularly see at the grocer mart, but at the service desk if you don't especially want the attention. The scents and mental stimulation will open other avenues of creativity.

Even if it's the memory of how good everything smelled or how relaxing everything felt for a moment, knowing that you were the one that created it will be even more rewarding when you know that you are the one having the power to change the perception of living!
