Adobe Air Applications
I decided to check out the Adobe Air applications on the AdobeR Marketplace and Exchange. This is the place for finding free (or for a small price) applications created by Adobe Air developers. I typed in To-Do List in the search engine and found several Air applications. As you would expect, they are listed by Star Rating from 1 – 5 stars. The Product Info link on the product’s description page takes you to the publisher’s website for more information or you can download the application from the Adobe marketplace.
But there’s more than to-do list applications on the Marketplace. In fact, there are so many applications you could spend all day there just looking. You may even get a few ideas for an Air application that you might want to build.
Let’s take a look at an application that works with social websites such as Twitter and Facebook. TweetDeck is a free application by Iain Dodsworth. It works as a personal browser which will display postings from all of your social networking websites in one organized place.
In the Creative and Design category, you have many applications that will help you to become a more efficient designer. For example, there are many applications for working with color themes such as the free Kuler Desktop by Adobe Kuler. With this application you can create, share and import color themes into Creative Suite. Another creative application that is becoming popular is Livebrush by David Fasullo. This is a motion-based drawing tool that is surprisingly responsive to your mouse. It has many customizable styles and decorations.
Under Home and School, we have many different applications such as the free NetBook application by Dean McKee. This is an ebook reader/listener that displays the text and plays the audio content from the Gutenberg online library. Or you might have need for an application that let’s you post notes to yourself on your desktop. The MyDesktopNotes application by Richard Prandini let’s you post notes on your computer in multiple colors.
