Did You Know -- Special Article Two

Abundance and Wealth Newsletter readers have asked me to compile the weekly “Did You Know” questions into special articles.

Here’s the second collection. I’ve also included the “Pearls of Wisdom.”

You can always find the answers to the “Did You Know” questions on the Abundance and Wealth forum the same day the newsletter is sent to our subscribers.

This collection covers December 9, 2007 -- December 31, 2007.

“Did You Know” Question:

Did you know that 2/3 of minimum wage earners are women?

TRUE

FALSE

Correct answer: True

Studies show that women still make less than men doing the same job. It’s time we take charge of our financial future. Let’s read the books and take the classes and become even more proficient with money. What can we women do from home or part time to educate ourselves on how to achieve greater financial self-sufficiency and self-confidence?

If you have suggestions, please post them on the Abundance and Wealth forum.

“Did You Know” Question:

Did you know of the elderly living in poverty, _________ out of 4 are women?

Correct answer: 3 out 4 are women.

80% of these women were not poor when their husbands were alive.

What does that tell us? Many women are not financially prepared to live on their own during retirement! It doesn’t matter what your current age, it’s time to save for those golden years. The elderly are often at the mercy of family members or the government to see them through. This should be a wake up call for all of us.

“There is a gigantic difference between earning a great deal of money and being rich”
Marlene Dietrich, Movie Actress

“Did You Know” Question:

Did you know that with 69 million women in the workforce, _________ million of them are the sole breadwinners in their families?

a. 10 million

b. 25 million

c. 35 million

Correct answer: a. 10 million.

Yet, many women have not planned for this. Often women are not only the sole breadwinners but also have children to raise.

The key is not to rely totally on someone else for your financial well-being. Think about starting a home-based business or working part time. Make it a point to learn how to take care of your money and plan wisely for the future.

Did you know that in the very near future, you’ll have your own personal smart card with an embedded microchip? These smart cards will be similar to gift cards and store cash values. The microchip in the smart cards will enable your personal computer to download funds from your bank accounts directly to your card.

TRUE

FALSE

Correct answer: True.

Do you think someday we won’t be using paper money at all?
