Getting Your Holiday Shopping Done With Twins

Getting Your Holiday Shopping Done With Twins
'Tis the season to shop and as a parent of multiples there is nothing more nerve wrecking than knowing that you have such little time to get so much shopping done. So how does everyone else do it? I mean surely there must be a way to start scratching everyone off your list! Here are some wonderful tips on getting your holiday shopping done- and fast!

Welcome to the online world!

Shopping has never been easier! With a click of a button you are able to shop away for everyone! The very best part is that you just might find better deals online than in the actual stores. Not to mention you won't be tempted to get something you weren't planning on getting in the first place! Make sure you do your homework as far as deals go and click away. Many online retailers now offer free shipping too. The only downside? That bike you ordered might not be in a discreet package so make sure you're checking to see if there are any packages outside your door before the kiddos do!

Bedtime getaway

When you can't find what you're looking for online or when you really do miss the actual thrill of shopping it might just be best to walk out the door when the children are sleeping. Leaving your children with a babysitter or your partner is not as bad when they have dozed away! If you're not able to put them to bed a little earlier just remember that many stores do have extended hours for the holidays. Yes, they did it for people like you and me.

Weekdays are perfect

Whatever you do, do not go out during the weekend. It will take longer and your children will feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed. They're in the stroller worried you just might bang into all these people walking around. Also remember that the more crowded the store the more you're likely to have to stroll closer to the clothing or toy racks that they love tugging at so much!
Keep in mind as well that the earlier you hit that mall the less crowded it is. Plan a trip right after breakfast and beat those long lines. Make sure to take plenty of snacks in case you take a little too long and the kids become restless. I have also found that packing up a surprise works very well for older toddlers. I usually take out books that they have not seen in a while. It might not buy you a couple more hours but it certainly will keep them happy and busy for a little while longer!
