A Young Girl rides a pony at the zoo in 1951! Average Vote: 8.71 This photo was taken in the summer of 1951 at a local zoo; the father of this child took this picture of his young daughter on the horse; the child was wearing a homemade yellow sun dress; the father had bought the young girl the cowboy hat; the child's curly black hair peeked through the brim of the hat. White Roof of Snow on the House Average Vote: 6.82 Our home is located near a small state park and I would describe it as a lake front house; our state does not receive much snowfall so when it snowfall occurs, we photograph our homes and children playing in the beauty of the white, cold snow!
FRAGRANT TEA ROSE Average Vote: 6.8 This rose is a tea rose that was purchased at Bellengraph Gardens in Alabama; it is also in a whiskey barrel planter on my backyard deck; the fragrance of this rose has such a beautiful aroma; I dry the blooms and the aroma intensifies when the blooms are dried.
The Old Barn and the Beauty of the Rose Average Vote: 6.4 This birdhouse was constructed from an old barn in Heber Springs, Arkansas; I placed it on the corner of the rail next to my tea rose; one of the tea rose buds nestled itself against the side of the birdhouse; it was a pretty to see the old wood against the beauty of the rose. My late sister and I bought matching birdhouses before she passed away so it has special meaning to me. The old coffee pot hanging below the birdhouse gives another old dimension to the picture.
DINNER PLATE HIBISCUS Average Vote: 6 THIS EXQUISITE BLOOM IS A HARDY HIBISCUS WHICH HAS DINNER PLATE SIZE BLOOMS; THE PLANT IS IN A LARGE WHISKEY BARREL PLANTER AND IS ABOUT FOUR YEARS OLD; EACH YEAR THE BUDS AND BLOOMS GET LARGER WITH MORE BLOOMS EACH YEAR ON THE PLANT. THE PLANTER SITS IN THE CORNER OF MY BACKYARD DECK.
Fourth of July Tablescape Average Vote: 5.86 My tablescape is made up of a white lace tablecloth with a red-checked tablecloth as the overlay cloth. The center has two American Flag rug mats. I put a large round blue glass platter with a small battenberg lace place mat overlaid in the platter. A lighthouse teapot is in the middle of the platter with the top ajar with artificial cherries "peaking " out of the top of the teapot. A sprinkling of red, white and blue stars are tossed around the perimeter of the teapot around the base. On each side of the teapot centerpiece is two vintage glasses dated 1958 with a picture of Snoopy Dog and the slogan says, "Vote for The American Beagle. Inside of the glasses, I folded a napkin in a candle shape, inserting a watermelon candle on a stick and a USA flag candle. The salt & pepper shakers are sitting in a blue oval shaped bowl with strawberry candles(3) arranged in it. There are two candlesticks which are ivory with gold trim with red tapers in them. Patriotic placemats for diners are on the table.
Little Girl Drinking Water.... Average Vote: 5.36 This is a photo of our granddaughter when she was small; we had taken her to the town square in our city to run through the gazebo, play on the playground, chase the squirrels; she was fascinated with the water fountain and wanted to drink water. She was four years old!
RAIN-KISSED HIBISCUS Average Vote: 2.6 THIS HIBISCUS BUD WAS RAIN-KISSED BY A VERY NEEDED RAINFALL IN OUR AREA; THE BLOSSOM NEXT TO IT HAD CLOSED FOR THE EVENING AND THE RAIN JUST PUT "IT TO SLEEP"!! I USED A DIFFERENT SETTING ON MY CAMERA TO CAPTURE THE DARK BRILLIANCE OF THE COLORATION OF THE FLOWER
