Beverly Sills Born May 25, 1929
Beverly Sills began her career by winning a radio show contest-- at age 3. By twelve she began to pursue a career in opera. Her career life progressed like a fairy tale, but her family life had heart wrenching struggles.

Billy Joel Born May 9, 1949
Billy Joel earned his nickname as "The Piano Man" by having top ten hits for three separate decades. Even though he was classically trained, his love for Broadway Musicals, Jazz, and Rhythm and Blues found their way into many of his songs.

Colin Farrell born May 31, 1976
Colin Farrell is proud of his Irish heritage but he rarely gets roles speaking with his natural Irish accent. And, while many of his movies were not blockbuster hits, he is still a highly desirable commodity in Hollywood who never seems at a loss for getting new roles.

Elizabeth Montgomery's Role as Bewitched
Elizabeth Montgomery will always be remembered for her role as Samantha Stevens in the popular tv series "Bewitched". Interestingly, she lied about her age consistently so her birth date is questionable, but she died on May 18, 1995.

Hands Across America - May 25 1986
Hands Across America was a national fundraiser for the Homeless and Hungry. It only lasted 15 minutes long, but those 15 minutes united a nation in a desire to help the homeless and hungry.

Hosni Mubarak Born May 4
Hosni Mubarak was born on May 4, 1928 and is best known for his autocratic leadership as the President of Egypt but he will probably be remembered most for the dramatic protests to remove him from office.

Leonardo da Vinci died May 2, 1519
Leonard da Vinci was the first "Renaissance Man". He was talented with diverse knowledge and taught future researchers about science, math, and artistry. To this day it is still amazing the information and the unique lifestyle that he chose for himself. Did you know he could sing well?
