Monthly Newsletter Ideas

Monthly Newsletter Ideas
If you publish a monthly newsletter then you are familiar with the different themes and holidays in the calendar year. Publishing a monthly newsletter or ezine means that the content will change every month to reflect the upcoming or current month's theme. By doing this, the newsletter’s content, graphics and stories will be focused mainly on the specialized holidays or events specific for that month.

Since we are addressing everything about newsletters and ezines, it is only natural that we take a look at the 12 calendar months to see what type of themes, holidays and events are in each. Some will be federal holidays and some special events and celebrations. Some still, will be only known to you and your subscribers.

By looking at the months in the calendar year and having a specific focus on themes, holidays and events, you should never be without ideas for your newsletter. Using an Editorial calendar will help you gain a head start on planning your newsletter or ezine for the upcoming months or even years. The benefit here is that you will always know what’s coming and what is to be expected of your newsletter or ezine. This way you can plan in advance, according to what you want your newsletter to cover for a specific month.

If you already know in advance what holidays or events are coming up in the future, then you can schedule time to research stories, articles and graphics etc. for your newsletter. You will need time to locate all the information you want to include in your newsletter or ezines. You also want time to browse for local and regional information or events that may be taking place during the same month.

Depending on your newsletter’s or ezine’s niche and how often you send it out will determine the type of creative ideas you will incorporate into it. Since some newsletters are published monthly, every newsletter can benefit from using monthly themes, events and holidays. If your newsletter is already filled and space is limited, then all you have to do is find a way to tie the monthly theme into your regularly published content. You can write your content from an angle or slant that brings the month’s theme into focus subtly. You can even use a quote to acknowledge to your readers that you are aware of the special holiday, theme or event for a specific month.

Creatively speaking there is so much you can do to keep your ezine or newsletter fresh and inviting for your subscribers reading pleasure. Again, it really depends on what sort of niche your newsletter falls in, i.e. business, personal, organizational or clubs/social.
