How responsible can you be? This is hard even for adults but in order for your daughter to do it you must do it. Leave all cell phones before bed at the front door. No sleeping with the cell phone beside you. Have a battery charger for all at the door and leave it including parents. A parent must lead by example. Laws as it apply to teens. There are new laws that prohibit teens from using their phones while in the car. The more you down size texting along with putting it away at night - the easier it will be to put aside while driving. Inform your daughter that the more responsible she becomes with her cell phone. The more she will be allowed to have privileges with car, phone and other teens. Which means she can be trusted more to go with other teens with her phone by promoting the rules to others. Inform her that it’s a safety issue and not anything else. Her life and others are what’s important. Reward her for her responsibility in cell phone use with others.

It’s important that parents lead by example. Kids will do what they see. Let’s show them how it’s done. No talking while driving unless it’s hand free. Will it hurt to wait until your destination to talk in the parking lot. No texting while driving unless you've pulled over. Don’t be on the cell phone all of the time or she will – which also includes at home. Engage in more family activity or teen time. Sports and other activity should play a big factor.
Keep your daughter connected and protected – this also applies to you! Help her be a smart, safe and responsible mobile phone user.
