Bluetooth and Applications
There are many things that you can do with Bluetooth technology. Just think, you can swap data and synchronize files by just having devices within range. Even images can be captured with a digital camera and sent to a computer for editing and printing. All this can be done without the use of cables.

So, what really makes all this happen? Well, the technology is a combination of circuit and packet switching, which makes it completely suitable for voice and data. WLANs and LANs are pretty useless because it doesn’t minimize the need for cables. Additionally, it’s not intended for interconnecting at the same range as mobile devices that people carry around for everyday use between home and the office. So, in this instance, when you’re carrying a mobile device between home and the office everyday, Bluetooth is actually what is really needed. In the office, Bluetooth portable devices can be in motion while connected to the LAN access points as long as the user stays within the 30-feet range. However, Bluetooth can be combined with other technologies to offer new capabilities, such as automation.
