Can a Tea Bath Make You Feel Oh So Good?
Tea baths. Who would ever think that you could do so much with tea and a tub. Known more for it medicinal properties, tea has been used for ages to help with health and wellness challenges.

What Are Some of the Best Teas for Bathing?

The aromas of tea alone, will have you going “ooo ahhh”. One of the best places to get herbal teas for your bath is from your garden or pantry. Summer gardens can provide you with so many herbs for your bath.

If you choose to garden, your herbs and flowers will not only build a scent profile for you, they will also give you color. Your tea choices will also provide benefits when bathing.

Lavender, rosemary, rose, sage, mint and lemon balm make great herbal blends for baths. Lavender, lemon balm and rose are relaxing herbs. Rosemary and mint are invigorating herbs. Comfrey and chamomile are soothing.

A deep study of herbs and flowers will help you make the best choices. If you don't like the idea of gardening, your can always choose to purchase ready made tea baths or essential oils.

Recipes to the Rescue

Since the idea of a bath is to calm and relax, here's a Calming Bath Recipe.

Here's what you'll need:

1/4 cup of chamomile flowers
1/8 cup of lemon balm, aerial parts
1/8 cup of lavender flower buds
1 quart heat-safe glass jar

Add the herbs to a heat-safe 1-qt glass jar. Pour fresh-boiled water over the ingredients and fill the jar. Cove it and allow to steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain and add to your bath.

Dried Herbs for Bathing

Dried herbs, from your summer harvest, will extend their use throughout the winter months. Here's an anti-inflammatory bath for you.

1/3 oz of dried ginger
1/3 oz of dried sweet birch bark
1/3 oz of dried yarrow
2 cups of Epsom salts
1 quart water

Add your ginger and birch to water. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add your yarrow and simmer another 10 minutes.

Strain your liquid and add it directly to your bath water. Add your Epsom salt, relax and enjoy. Sounds like an ooo ahh moment to me.
