The Beautiful Scent of Beauty Products

The Beautiful Scent of Beauty Products
Honey kissed lip balms, scented body splashes … these are just two of the beautiful ways to use scented beauty products. Why would you want to scent your beauty products? One reason is that they make you smell so good.

I remember walking into a room of women at a workshop, and the beauty of the aroma emanating from the room was absolutely luscious.  It was a workshop all about natural products and the use of essential oils as a scenting agent.  Typically, you’re asked to not wear anything scented, however, the women in the room were smelling of natural aromas from their body washes, shampoos and conditioners.
We were all anticipating the gathering.  What we found were a group of women with so much in common that we naturally gravitated to each other like honey to a bee.

The recipes given below in this article are for you to enjoy and create a beauty product that has your signature on it.

Honey Kissed Lip Balm

Ingredients make about 375 ml (1-1/2 cups)
250 ml (1 cup) sweet almond oil*
125 ml (1/2 cup) beeswax**
2 Tbsp. honey

How To prepare

Place almond oil and beeswax in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1
minute or until mixture melts.

Whisk honey into beeswax mixture; stir well.

Set aside to cool completely. When cool, pour into small containers with lids.

How To use

Apply to lips as a moisturizer or on top of lipstick for extra shine.

*Sweet almond oil can be found at natural food stores.
** Beeswax can be purchased at craft and health food stores.

After Bath Splash

After-bath splashes are great to use when you get out of the tub or any time you desire a light, wispy fragrance.
Combine the following ingredients in a bottle and shake well:
1/2 cup 100-proof vodka
1/2 teaspoon of your favorite fragrance oil
1 tablespoon glycerin
1 drop food coloring (optional)

Oil Fighting Toner

1 1/4 cup witch hazel
20 drops eucalyptus Essential Oil
7 drops clove Essential Oil
7 drops peppermint Essential Oil
10 drops rosemary Essential Oil

Pour together and mix. Believe it or not, I have sensitive skin, and this blend works great! I haven't had any reaction to any of the ingredients, and my skin clears up. I've been using it for about three months now.

That's it for this week. If you've enjoyed what you've read, share it with a friend and don't forget to visit our forum.
