Nordic Ware Grill and Shake Basket Review

Nordic Ware Grill and Shake Basket Review
My favorite way to grill vegetables is to use a stir fry pan designed for the grill. I received a Nordic Ware Grill and Shake Basket as a gift from a family member and have not look back since receiving it. I simply chopped up various vegetables and herbs, lightly toss with oil and salt and pepper, and place in the preheated pan on the grill. The pan allows for close contact to the grill for that delicious grilled taste but prevents any smaller pieces of vegetables from slipping through and burning. I've grilled spinach, kale, squash, kohlrabi, radishes, eggplants, onions, peppers, and potatoes this way.

Before receiving this gift, I had no idea you could stir-fry vegetables on the grill. I thought either direct heat or aluminum foil were the only options. This grill pan allows for direct heat contact for smaller veggies. It gives you the option to grill smaller vegetables like radishes, onions, and carrots, leafy greens like spinach and swiss chard, and add herbs to the vegetables like parsley and dill. I have never added meat but I am sure you can add some diced chicken or beef and cook through prior to adding the vegetables.

The grill basket is designed to be used on an outdoor barbecue grill. It is lightweight and easy to clean. It is easily one of my favorite go-to summertime gadgets. It keeps all the cooking outdoors and makes for easy clean up because of its ability to make a 1-dish meal. It keeps the added fats in check because just a little oil is needed to keep the vegetables from sticking to each other and for flavor enhancement.

I highly recommend this pan for anyone looking for a new way to cook vegetable. It's easy to use and easy to clean. Its larger size allows for lots of veggies but the downside is that it might not fit on a smaller grill. You can cook openly on most grills but might be limited in closing the grill lid if using a smaller grill. It holds several cups of diced vegetables but you might want to consider batch cooking if you plan on cooking a large amount of vegetables. Also, be gentle with your stirring. If you get too rough, you could end up mashing your meats or softer vegetables through the grate holes and into the barbeques.
