Copycat Recipe - Colonel's Cole Slaw
This recipe clone makes creamy coleslaw that tastes just like the popular side dish served at those famous Fried Chicken restaurants.

Copycat Recipe - Colonel's Cole Slaw

  • 8 cups grated cabbage
  • 1/3 cup finely grated carrots
  • 2 T. dehydrated minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2-1/2 T. lemon juice
  • 1-1/2 T. white vinegar
  • 2 drops hot pepper sauce, such as Tabasco (optional)

Preparation -
Mix the grated cabbage, grated carrots, minced onion, celery seed, sugar, salt and pepper together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, and hot sauce together. Pour over the cabbage mixture and stir to mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
