The Go-Giver a Book Review

The Go-Giver a Book Review
Can giving to others make your business an over the top success? Bob Burg and John David Mann think so and in their book The Go-Giver they tell a perfect story of how it works.

The story centers around a regular guy named Joe. That was their first act of brilliance, making Joe a touchable guy. Some how I think if the main character was name Garland or Sinclair he might seem a bit elite or exclusive. No, this story is about a man name Joe. Joe has a wife, a job and a dream of success. However, Joe finds himself taking a thousand steps yet remaining in the same place. While he has a good routine, his life is not moving forward. In a way the fact that Joe gets stuck is a great gift. It’s this state of being stuck that sends Joe to seek answers.

Joe is introduced to several successful business owners who tell him story after story of their simple beginnings that led to outstanding success in life and in business.

We’ve all heard the dog-eat-dog concepts of many business mavericks. Three cheers to “getting yours” at any cost. We know about competition, we know about guerilla business tactics, we know about what can happen in one minute and what to do when the cheese is gone but do we know how to use giving as a principle for success? Most business plans don’t have a section for one to explain how they plan to GIVE their way to a strong and thriving business, but perhaps they should.

The Go-Give turns the spot light on things:

The Law of Value
The Law of Compensation
The Law of Influence
The Law of Authenticity
The Law of Receptivity
The Law of Stratospheric Success

Stratospheric success? After reading the book you’ll see how it is possible for a regular Joe to have stratospheric success.

The Go-Giver will help anyone who is stuck and ready to try a new (old) model of looking out for the interest of the other guy, customer, community, family before looking out for our own. The Go-Giver is a simple strategic book that anyone can use to make life better, more fulfilling and definitely more successful. It not only focuses on how your business will benefit it uncovers a little known secret of how giving makes your whole life work better.
