The maid of honor or matron of honor has sixteen responsibilities when she accepts this position. Not to worry, these responsibilities are fairly stress-free, allowing the maid of honor or matron of honor the ability to enjoy your big day as well.

The responsibilities of the maid of honor or matron of honor are:

- host bridal shower
- attend all pre-wedding parties and showers
- assist bride’s mother with dressing the bride
- hold groom’s ring during wedding ceremony
- assist in wedding ceremony and reception arrangements
- remind the bride of details
- hold bride’s bouquet during wedding ceremony
- make sure bride’s wedding attire is perfect throughout wedding ceremony
- witness the signing of marriage license (along with best man)
- greet guests in receiving line
- offer help throughout wedding day
- bustle wedding gown at wedding reception
- help bride change out of wedding clothes
- make sure there are no personal items left behind after ceremony or reception
- organize activities at the wedding reception
- help organize the couple’s departure from reception
