2007 Bead Expo in Oakland, California - April 11-15

The Beadwork Bead Expo will be held at the Oakland Convention Center this year. They plan to host 150 vendors and hold 110 classes and workshops.

Scheduled to attend are best-selling authors Mark Lareau (Getting Started Making Metal Jewelry), Viki Lareau (Marketing and Selling Your Handmade Jewelry), Carol Cypher (Hand Felted Jewelry), and Larkin Jean Van Horn (Beading on Fabric). There will be a juried beadwork show and a symposium called Beaded Bags and Containers Worldwide.

2007 Halstead Bead Business Development Grant - App. Submission April 15 - June 30

Halstead Bead, Inc., is offering its second annual business development grant for designers entering the bridge jewelry trade. The grant is worth $6,000 in cash and merchandise and includes some other benefits. Applications are open to bridge-jewelry designers who have a serious business plan in addition to creative designs.
