January 25 2012 Renaissance Newsletter

Hello!

Winter has finally come to my little corner of California and it's been a pretty rainy week! I'm lucky to have a place where I can stay out of the wet and cold, and it's just the kind of weather that makes me want to curl up and read.

One of my favorite Renaissance era writer is metaphysical poet John Donne. He led an interesting, albeit difficult, life and produced some of the best literary works of his time. I was motivated to do some additional research on his life and share the story with you this week.

So, without further ado, here's the latest article from the Renaissance site at BellaOnline.com.

John Donne - Metaphysical Poet
John Donne is most commonly known as the founder of the "Metaphysical Poets," a group which included such others as Samuel Johnson, George Herbert, Richard Crashaw, Andrew Marvell, and John Cleveland.
