Kwispelbier is a new "doggie beer" specially formulated for man's best friend. Made from beef extract and malt, this non-alcoholic brew is the brain child of Terrie Berenden of Zelhem in the Netherlands, where she owns and operates a pet shop. She designed the beer as a reward for her Weimaraners, after all-day hunting trips.

Is it palatable? If you regularly eat Fido's food and like it, you may be tempted to drink Kwispelbier yourself. At $2.14 a bottle, we know Fido is worth it; but are you? Stick to the Hop Devil, my friend, and leave the Kwispelbier for your best buddy.

Bard's Tale Beer, producers of Dragons Golden Sorghum Lager - a gluten free beer brewed with 100% sorghum malt - announced expansion of their management team this week. Brian Kovalchuk, former CEO of Pabst Brewing Company, accepted the appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Bard's Tale Beer. He applauded the company's proven position of innovation within a new market segment, and announced expectations of launching Bard's Tale into a more prominent position in the marketplace. Brian Bizer, former VP of Finance at Pabst, has accepted the position of VP of Finance for Bard's Tale and has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer on the Board of Managers.

Bard's Tale is currently available in 20 states in the USA. They use an independent lab to assure the purity of a gluten free product throughout the harvesting, brewing and bottling process.

Craft Beer of the Week Award

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, Goose Island, Chicago, Illinois, USA

Style: American Double Stout

A diabolical onyx body full of rich alcohol (11% abv) sucks the head from this aromatic brew. With a nose full of bourbon, wood, chocolate, espresso and vanilla, it delights the senses. The inky body shines mahogany along the edges, while a pour into your mouth meets with the reward of a velvety mouthfeel and glorious flavors.
