Even the best marriages can succumb to life's challenges. I wasn't the only one to be surprised when longtime married Hollywood couple Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman announced their separation. Although Mr. Devito is a tad past the midlife point, I couldn't help but wonder if a fear of aging caused him to engage in uncharacteristic behaviors like allegedly flirting with younger women, as was reported. We never know what goes on in the privacy of a couple's own home nor is it any of our business, but my sincere sympathies go out to these two lovely people. The demise of a marriage is sad. I wish both of them well.
