October 4 2009 Poetry Newsletter

October is here and things are cooling off beautifully!
Over the last few weeks, I had the opportunity to hear from several of my readers on a previous article in which we looked at the poem "Because I could not stop for death" by Emily Dickinson. I was asked about the answers to the questions posted beneath the poem. This week's article looks at the poem again and lists some interpretations as a follow up to that article.

This article also contains direct links to the poem and the definitions of poetic elements used. You can find the article at:

Interpreting Dickinson
Interpreting Dickinson’s masterpiece "Because I could not stop for death", a follow up to the article: "Emily Dickinson’s journey with Death".

"There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on
the feelings, as now in October."
- Nathaniel Hawthorne
