This Friday is Veteran's Day here in the US. There will be parades and ceremonies, programs and speeches. Many will have the day off from work, and some will fly their flags. To others it's just another day, inconvenienced by the banks and post office being closed. To Native Americans, it is a day of family tradition.

This day is of great significance, as Veterans are part of every American Indian family.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in this week's newsletter. It was an honor to help my friends, The Cherokee of Georgia, set up their new Tribal Newsletter, but it did take longer than planned. However, the things I learned for this week's article are worth the wait.

Our military history is amazing, and so much is merely skimmed over or ignored in our schools. We have to piece it together ourselves, and I ended up with a much larger "puzzle" than anticipated, with some really ironic "pieces." So join us in the forum to learn more about those pieces, and please add ones that you have.
