Beer Fox Tip of the Week:

For a quick turkey basting sauce that has zest and style, melt 3/4 C. of butter. Blend with one 12-ounce bottle of Belgian witbier, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons Sweet-and-Sour sauce, 1/4 Cup soy sauce, and a teaspoon of Dijon Mustard. Whisk-in a few healthy pinches of rosemary, sage, parsley and thyme.

Use as a basting sauce for turkey breast, brushing every 15 minutes until crisp and caramelized.

Beer Fox Laugh of the Week:

Its been a rough day. I got up this morning... put on a shirt and a button fell off. I picked up my briefcase and the handle came off. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom!

Beer News

Debate can be fun, especially when it is debate over the flavors in a seasonal beer. The only way to satisfy your argument is to do taste evaluations on as many beers as you can find. Pumpkin Ales are a good example. Some brewers say the flavors are not really pumpkin, but nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and other spices. Do your own taste test.
Beer Fox Recommended Brews:

Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale - Weyerbacher Brewing Company, Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Brewer Bill's Pumpkin Ale - Big Time Brewery and Alehouse, Seattle, Washington, USA

The Great Pumpkin - Elysian Brewing Company, Seattle, Washington, USA

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale - Saint Louis Brewery/Schlafly Tap Room, St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Punkin' Ale - Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Milton, Delaware, USA

Kuhnhenn All Hallows Ale - Kuhnhenn Brewing Company, Warren, Michigan, USA

Edenton Pumpkinhead Ale - Edenton Brewing Company, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Cottonwood Pumpkin Spiced Ale - Carolina Beer & Beverage, Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

Craft Brew of the Week Award:

The Reverend - Avery Brewing Company, Boulder, Colorado, USA

Style: Quadrupel

Brilliant orange copper shines forth beneath a solid white, frothy head. Dark fruits - cherries, plums, raisins and boysenberries - mix with sweet, toffee malts and formidable body of alcohol - rum and sherry. Fresh hop presence is enhanced by delicate carbonation and a long, dry finish. Incredible!

Cheers!
