Well, my techie husband's adage that you can never trust computer changes to be smooth, transparent to the user, and uncomplicated, has been born out big time the past few weeks! BellaOnline made a major transition from one hosting company to another, shifting three big servers and hundreds of thousands of files--not to mention processes and protocols developed over a decade. It was not without some losses, but there were remarkably few of those articles that went missing. However, the huge number of processes--ways the servers talked to one another, to users and to the outside world--are still being tweaked. Little glitches are everywhere, and vary from person to person and transaction to transaction.
The amazing thing is that the site is more than 90% up and running through all the chaos! Most editors and users can now access everything except the occasion article from September or October, and we can again send newsletters as of this week. The Bahá'í Site has all its articles accessible again, via the subject headings to the left of the main page. The forum is working, and also email. If you sent me something in the past three weeks and didn't get an answer, please forgive the glitch and send again!
So, back on track from nearly two months ago, this week's article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com is a book review:
Can Religion Provide Hope for a Global Ethic ?
Book Review - "Hope for a Global Ethic: Shared Principles in Religious Scriptures," Brian D. Lepard; Bahá'í Publishing 2005
