Five Ideas for Felicitous Christmas Festivities
Our children are grown and flourishing, for which we are truly grateful. They also can’t come home for Christmas, which kind of takes the wind out of our celebratory sails. We always did do a low-key version of Christmas, but this year it has seemed pointless to go to any trouble at all. But cheer up, in this article are some ideas that have infused sparkle and poignancy into our let’s-not-bother Christmas slump.
From my heart to yours
I’ve been memorizing the Robert Frost poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Such a lovely poem, and I think of it every time I step out my front door. Winter, if one has shelter and warm clothes, truly is a beautiful season here, and I’m resolved to appreciate its delights more this year than I have in the past. The treasures our Father has heaped everywhere for our enjoyment are astonishing in their variety and abundance, don’t you think?
