If the holiday crafting bug still has a hold, and you are in need of some quick ornaments to make for tree, garland, wreath, or gift package, the following are quick, easy, great for kids to help with, and a way to use up some extra holiday fabric:

Pine Cone Ornament with Fabric Bow
Gather pine cones. Spray with fake snow, sprinkle on sliver or white glitter, set aside to dry. Make a double fabric bow and glue to the top of the pine cone. Glue a thin ribbon or cord for hanging, or to use tie onto a package for decoration.

Cookie Cutter Felt Ornament
Trace cookie cutter shape - bell, tree, star, or snowman shape onto tissue paper or construction paper to make an easy-to-use template. Use the template to cut out two of the same shape onto colorful felt. Using contrasting colored embroidery floss, stitch nearly around the outer edges of the cut out shape using a blanket stitch. Leave a small opening for stuffing with poly fiberfill, or other felt scraps or bits of yarn. Continue to stitch closed. Glue a hanging loop of ribbon or cord.

Muslin Angel
Take a largish square of muslin; place a ball of poly fiberfill as stuffing for the head on the underside of the center of the square. Gather to form a ball, tie off using floss or thread. With the remaining fabric hanging, take two sides and form simple overhand knots to make each arm. Sew a bit of lace around head for a bonnet and add a few stitches using brown embroidery floss to make eyes and mouth. Add a lace circle crimped in the center to form wings and glue or sew to the angel's back. Glue or sew a ribbon loop or cord to back to hang on the tree or wreath.

Happy Holidays!
