Valentine's Day is near! Time to be extra sweet to the ones we care about. It is sad to say that an exchange of cards between classmates may not keep smiles on our little ones' faces very long when abuse is involved. Many states still use corporal punishment. Physical abuse can never be healthy for a child. Children with learning disabilities can only fall farther behind.

The first day of school is an exciting time for most children. A new teacher, new friends, and an opportunity to learn are expected. Spanking, pinching or paddling is not thought to be an option.
