Beer Fox Tip of the Week:

Serving beer in proper glassware is "eye candy" for the spirit, and affords the best display for "appearance" in anticipation of a seductive brew.  Breweries in Belgium actually engineer the glass before the beer.

Scientific studies support the fact that the shape of glassware assists in head development and retention - and we all know that "good head" is important for preserving the volatiles in beer.  Volatiles are compounds that add to the aroma of beer - hop oils, fruity esters, herbal notes, spices, and alcohol.

Beer Fox Laugh of the Week:

A friendly little jab at our accountant friends who are so busy during this tax season:

A patient was at her doctor's office after undergoing a complete physical exam. The doctor said, "I have some very grave news for you. You only have six months to live."

The patient asked, "Oh doctor, what should I do?"

The doctor replied, "Marry an accountant."

"Will that make me live longer?" asked the patient.

"No," said the doctor, "but it will SEEM longer."

Beer News:

Molson Kick becomes available in Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec, beginning March 21, 2005 - with a kick of guarana, the mysterious South American plant having natural caffeine and herbal essences.

Molson Kick will be available in a fast-chilling aluminum bottle - lighter than glass bottles, and easy to recycle!

Craft Brew of the Week Award:

Avery India Pale Ale - Avery Brewing Company, Boulder, Colorado, USA

Style - India Pale Ale

Light amber sparkling gem with full head and persistent lacing.  Fruity, hoppy citrus character with rounded malt softness.  6% ABV.  Awakens your palate with an explosion of hops.

Cheers!
