I often get appalled to read about the lifestyle of people in Old Testament times. The easy mention of killings, idolatry, adultery and deceit makes me shudder to think of these Old Testament characters. However, the book of Genesis also records the life story of one impeccable character, Joseph, son of Jacob. Many traits from Joseph’s character also resemble closely with our dear Savior Jesus Christ. This study deals with only a part of Joseph’s adventures which bear a close resemblance to ‘prince to pauper’ tales. However, this prince never ended up a pauper but became a mighty ruler in the alien land of Egypt, all because of his unwavering faith in the God of his fathers.

We are heading towards the end of the season of Lent. This seems to be the very best time to reconsider what our personal ‘encounter’ with Christ has meant. Paul’s conversion is a highly dramatic account of a meeting with Christ. Let’s take a look at what this ‘encounter’ led to in Paul’s life and evaluate our own experiences after our transformation in Christ.
