I'm at the age where the subject of death and dying seems to occupy more conversations than I remember it doing when I was in college, say. I am now the eldest member of my family, not counting one cousin a couple years older. That is a shocking revelation! Also, people we know, or know of, are dying every day. And those of us still waiting for our turn are faced with religious and philosophical questions we might have been putting off dealing with for most of our lives.

A friend recently asked me if there were some comforting words from the Bahá'í Faith that she could include in her hospice materials, as she was now providing daycare for someone in the last stages of cancer. She was Catholic and her patient is of Jewish background, and both were fussing about the process of dying, as well as what life after death might turn out to be.

Religion has throughout history assured mankind that there was more to life than just this physical world. The Bahá'í Faith teaches that there is no death because true human nature is immortal spirit.
