April 13 2014 Jewelry Making Newsletter

I recently learned all about faux bezels from Jennifer Mokren, Associate Professor, Art and Design, University of Wisconsin Green Bay. She teaches a contemporary approach to bezeled jewelry. She taught a recent workshop on how to give jewelry a contemporary look with modified bezels. Jennifer's teaching style was very straight forward and easy to follow. I highly recommend her workshop if she teaches in your area. Hope you enjoy my article and have as much fun as I did, learning to make faux bezels.

Introduction to Faux Bezels
Faux bezels have a contemporary look and allow flexibility in your designing. Multiple elements can be added to the setting. Best of all, it is a fun and straight forward technique. If you can solder and saw you are ready to take your jewelry making to the next level.
