The latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com results from watching a baptism ceremony for a middle-aged friend last weekend. It has been years since I was in a church during services, but I thought her explanation of what she was doing and feeling was actually a better sermon than her pastor had given!
She was so happy to be washed of her sins that I had to wonder what exactly that ritual meant. My understanding of sin being mostly what I remember from childhood: very concrete and physical, like sneaking a fingerful of icing off the cake before my cousin's birthday party and getting caught in the lie afterward! Turns out that sin is rather more spiritual concept than that, LOL.
