Promoted to Glory

‘Tis the season for weddings and graduations. Eager brides start planning months in advance, and restless high school seniors count the days to freedom. Everyone’s schedule is packed. But no matter how solidly the weekends are booked with bridal showers, wedding rehearsals, reunions and graduation parties, a funeral can always be fit in. Funerals are seldom planned far in advance, and rarely anticipated with eagerness. But for a select group of people, an approaching funeral might engender some true rejoicing.

From my heart to yours

The deer in our woods have come through this easy winter in great numbers. The bucks now have little fuzzy antler stubs growing. I watched a fawn and a snowshoe hare in my backyard. The hare, crouched at the fawn’s feet, stayed stock still, being invisible, until the fawn reached her neck down and nudged it, then the hare sprang off into the woods. Then it started raining again.
