Moses – Senior Citizen Extraordinaire
Sometimes I get a little panicky. There are so many things I still want to do, and my life is at least half over. Am I wasting time? Does it matter what I do and don’t do? Who will care, anyway? Maybe I’m a late bloomer, like Moses. He didn't really get going until he was eighty.
From my heart to yours
We have our firewood in for the year. It is so satisfying to look out the kitchen window and see the sun shining on a full woodshed. In years past, my husband and sons made this happen without me. But the boys grew up and left, so this year Zack and I did it together. I never dreamed I would enjoy the hard physical labor of getting all that wood from standing trees to split chunks stacked in the shed. But working with my dear husband is a joy, and the work environment couldn’t be better. Fresh green forest, cool breezes, sunshine, glimpses of deer and finding beautiful mountain ladyslippers, queen’s cup, pudding berry and other wildflowers…What a beautiful way to spend time. Of course we bear some scrapes and bruises, but the work was a true blessing.
