The other day I was enjoying my morning coffee outside as my across the street neighbor prepared to travel on in his Class C. I couldn't believe what I saw...he "checked" his tires with a mallet. Yep, they had air...good to go.
Please, please, please, never consider this an adequate tire/air pressure check. Use a reliable gauge and check it every time you prepare to hit the road. Between temps and elevation psi changes...
