Once I found an earwig in my teacup, after I had drunk the tea. My kids thought that was hilarious. One time I lived in an Alabama apartment with wall to wall, floor to ceiling roaches. But rivers of blood? Frogs in your bed? Death in every house? What were God's reasons for the Ten Plagues?

Let us eat lettuce! And please have some more peas! Ah, summer’s bounty. Plenty to share with friends and the slugs and the chickens and even that blasted ground squirrel. Though he’s not sharing the broccoli with us. I hope your summer is overflowing with its own bounty, and that you are experiencing very little interference from ground squirrels.
