Wilderness: Key to Spiritual Growth

In America we love our wildernesses, perhaps because we don’t have to live in them. To us, wilderness is a place we can go when we want with our hiking or camping gear, or our RV’s, taking with us as few or as many of the comforts of home as we please. Wilderness in the Bible is utterly different.

From my heart to yours

I’d tell you it’s hot here, but many of you probably live much further south, and are experiencing much more heat than we are. But when you live above the 48th parallel, 80 degrees is plenty hot! Tomorrow is the annual Timber Days festival in our little town, the biggest to-do of the year. It kicks off tonight with a classic car cruise down the main drag, then a fun run early tomorrow morning, followed by a huckleberry pancake breakfast, logging skill competitions, a parade, and a family dance in the grocery store parking lot. Rural life is yummy.
